La Cala Golf Resort
La Cala Resort – Amenities
La Cala Resort is an outstanding Golf Resort in Mijas, Costa del Sol, surrounded by mountains and the Mediterranean sea. Although located in a tranquil and relaxing environment, it is only 20 minutes away from Marbella and 30 minutes from Malaga International Airport, in the heart of the Costa del Sol, Spain.
La Cala is renowned as one of the finest golf resorts in Andalucía. Three superb championship courses, each presenting its own unique challenges, slot seamlessly into a natural undulating backdrop of stunningly beautiful trees and flowers, rich with birds and wildlife.
It´s not necessarily all about golf either as guests & residents can enjoy a wealth of activities to include horse riding, hiking along nature trails, mountain biking, al fresco Pilates and Yoga, tennis and more. The resort has its very own professional football pitch and water skiing, sailing, kite surfing, scuba diving and canyoning are all available in the locality.
The three golf courses on site are:
Campo America.
Spectacular views to the Sierra de Ojén and Mediterranean Sea
6009 meters, par 72 with five par 5s.
Formerly the North Course, Campo America is enhanced by spectacular views to the Sierra de Ojén and Mediterranean Sea.
It’s wide, linked fairways and relatively few bunkers make this a slightly easier driving course, though the hilly topography requires a lot of carry across steep brush-covered side slopes. while the small raised greens demands more precise club selection to hit the mark.
There are water hazards on the 9th and 16th.
Campo Asia.
Plenty of challenging holes, guaranteeing a testing round of golf
5925 metres, par 72.
Formerly the South Course, the spectacular Campo Asia has plenty of challenging holes, guaranteeing a testing round of golf which puts a premium on the approach shot.
The oldest of our three courses and the one most respected by the professionals, it is narrow and short, with five par holes demanding skill and strategy.
Look out for the 10th with its classic design, and the 5th where the aim of your drive is especially critical. The 18th requires full concentration. Remember not to over-club off the tee or this lengthy par 5 could spoil your scorecard.
Campo Europa. A dramatic course but easier for the average golfer.
Campo Europa.
A dramatic course but easier for the average golfer.
6014 metres, par 71.
A dramatic course but easier for the average golfer, with generous fairways, flatter terrain and slightly larger greens than Campo America and Asia. Notable for one main bridge and four smaller bridges across the River Ojén, which features in eight holes, cutting across three fairways. There are four tunnels for golf carts.
Water hazards guard the 3rd and 14th greens. The 14th is at the maximum limit of what is allowed for a par 3 at 233 metres. The par 5 11th is the longest hole at 524 metres.
Myprogolfer – :
I stayed here with my wife last year, Have to say it is a great place played 2 courses Europa and America, Europa course was especially beautiful. The hotel is 3 minute walk away but still feels very seperate from the golf course/ club house. The clubhouse is stunning by the way with a beautiful outside covered terrace with amazing views, The hotel is very good with beautiful mountain views. We stayed in a mountain view room which I believe are the best rooms and overlooked the europa course with the mountain as a back drop.
Stunning!
I will definatly go back to this great venue
