Finch Golf Tour – Weekly Blog – Issue #1

Whats on?

The 2018 golf season is on the horizon, Tiger’s back, Finch Golf Tour hosts a whopping 9 golf days in March along with our 3 Day Lancashire Festival and 5 day Portugal hosted trip, all boxed off with the annual Masters Trip.

March has always been a very hectic month over the years but this year we have surpassed even all of our expectations and with regular tour events a tour favourites and classic links courses, what better way to start your 2018 season than a round of golf at; West Lancashire GC, Silloth on Solway GC, Formby Ladies GC, Conwy GC, Sandiway GC, Prestbury GC, Crosland Heath GC and Pleasington GC.

We have already over 250 people booked to compete this month and we still have spaces on all events for those looking to play some competitive golf.

Whats new?

Tiger Woods has returned to PGA Tour competitive action over the last two weeks and although a missed cut at the stunning Riviera Golf & Country club, did I tell you I once tee’d it up at this stunning Los Angeles venue……. maybe told you six or seven times? Well, to me Tiger looked good although rusty and this past weekend in the Honda Classic I can think of at least 10 shots now which a well oiled Tiger would not make, in my opinion having him back in the game is only going to enhance everything and who cares if other players in the Top 30 in the field are hitting good shots they aren’t doing it with Tiger’s charisma……………. or are they?

Looking back at last week’s Finch Golf Tour action there was nothing was new about John Meagher at the top of the tree but the Sherwood Forest venue certainly was a fantastic addition to the tour and one which will be back soon enough as part of our Notts Golf Festival in April.

Turkey is October – we will be embarking on our 1st ever trip to Turkey and the stunning Voyage resort will be the chosen venue as more than 20 people look to take in this fantastic resort and 5 rounds of fantastic golf.

I am personally excited about heading out to Turkey as it’s a place which has been touted as one of the best Golfing Destinations within 5 hours of the UK for it’s stunning courses but also for the 5* all inclusive element the trips have in their arsenal.

Chris is a new member of the team and not having worked, and only limited golfing experience its great to have fresh eyes looking at things a different way and allows us to keep pushing the boundaries of our fantastic venues whilst also being able to fill fields and keep in constant contact with our fantastic competitors and customers.

Chris will be starting by concentrating on our weekend events and also our BIG ONE SERIES which allows our players to compete for a guaranteed £500 1st place voucher at least once a month during the summer!

Questions asked…………..!?!?!?

Hi Peter, please can you tell me how the Order of Merit works?

Hi ******, sure no worries at all. The 2017/18 Order of Merit events will consist of only the singles events and each event will offer order of merit points with 1st Place receiving = 25 pts and 2nd Place = 24 its and so on.

The Top 60 and ties will then all be invited back to the Grand Final at Sandiway Golf Club on Tuesday 5th June where the winner will be invited on our 2018 Dubai Experience Trip.

Hi Finch Golf Tour, can we book as single golfers even if a team or pairs event?

We often get asked for our team and pairs events that if players enter as a single golfer will we pair them up? Of course we have a large pool of golfers who are looking to play and be fixed up, please let us know which event you are looking to attend and we shall work a pairing out for you, and as a last resort Ken or Peter will fix up with you!

Did you know?

We now have separate dedicated social media pages for Facebook, Twitter & Instagram – look for Finch Golf Tour / Finch Golf Travel.

In February 2009 – Peter Finch won his 1st Professional Event in Almeria at Valle De Este Resort

The Finch Golf Tour was created in 2013 and in October our opening date was at Ormskirk GC – since that dates we have had over 10,000 green fee’s sold

What have Jon Prescott, Alan Hamblett & Terry Chaplin all got in common? They have all won our Grand Final winning an invitation to venues across the world in the process.

The tour has committed over the years to offering the best events possible and now our BIG ONE’s are a way to offer the amateur golfer the closest experience to the professional ranks.

With the events supported by the highly regarded Clarkes’ Golf Stores we now have the platform to offer the golfers the best possible prizes and with each event having a GUARANTEED 1st PLACE of £500 what is not to like?

Starting at Prestatyn Golf Club on Thursday 26th April 2018 players are advised to enter early to avoid missing out.
